How high should grass be cut in Maryland?

Tall fescue, the grass that dominates most Maryland lawns, should be cut at 3 to 4 inches. Take off no more than one third of the blade in a mowing, so a lawn kept at 3 inches is mowed when it reaches 4. Rather not do it yourself? We mow lawns in Annapolis and across Anne Arundel County.
